SCCA Majors

Creative Arts Ministry
This degree develops and matures the student’s knowledge and practice of live visual and music production and prepares students to lead others in technology-focused creative arts. Graduates are prepared to lead a successful creative arts ministry at engaging and innovative churches.

Journalism & Digital Mass Media
This degree integrates hands-on reporting of news and information, production and distribution of digital media, and publication of original work. Graduates are able to find and deliver compelling stories, producing engaging content for the dynamic world of digital media and publishing.

Music Education
This degree leads to state licensure as a K-12 vocal/general music teacher. Graduates are able to effectively manage a classroom, lead a variety of music ensembles, and help students discover musical passions and achieve their full potential.

Music Technology
This degree equips students to become performers, producers, and designers through the study of musicianship skills, live and studio production, computer science and electrical engineering, and digital/electronic instrument construction. Graduates are prepared for strategic positions in live and studio production and postproduction as well as digital/electronic instrument design, repair, and customization.

Strategic Communication
This degree provides graduates with the skills to bring words, images, and strategies together, giving their voice power, their messaging meaning, and their ideas life. Graduates are ready to create communication campaigns across traditional, digital, Internet, social, and emerging media platforms.

Visual Media Production & Design (BFA)
This program takes students into the realm of creative thought, integrating both the technical and conceptual aspects of filmmaking, animation, graphic design, and web design. Students build professional portfolios through hands-on projects and immersive experience.

Worship Leadership
This degree prepares students for not only the practical “how to” of worship, but also provides a biblical and theological foundation that answers the “why” of worship. Along with what is learned in the classroom, students are presented with numerous opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
