The Royals Wellness program offers yoga, Zumba, self-defense, POUND fit, strength training, conditioning, and aerobics and water aerobics classes for students, faculty, and staff. Classes vary depending on demand and the availability of certified instructors. Class offerings, meeting times, and instructor information will be posted at the beginning of each semester by the Recreation Director.

Intramural sports include flag football, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, softball, kickball, and soccer. The intramural coordinators also offer one-day events for e-sports, cornhole, board games, and more.

Club sports are student organizations that train to compete with similar clubs from other collegiate institutions. Johnson University sponsors an Ultimate Frisbee club team. Other clubs that are active on campus include Disc Golf and Hiking. These clubs train and perform as interested students are able to commit their time to the club’s success.

In addition to the many activities offered in the Athletic and Recreation Complex (ARC), nearby public facilities in and around the greater Knoxville area include opportunities for hiking, golf, biking, skiing, camping, and fishing. There is no shortage of fun activities both on and near the JU campus!

The Recreation Director posts all recreation activities, club sports, wellness programs, and intramural schedules each semester through the IMLeagues App, which students can download and sign up for with their JU email address once their first semester begins.
