Step 2-Submit official transcipts on the Application Portal

  • Every college/university you’ve attended

  • Your high school or GED (if required)

Official transcripts allow JU to review your academic history and begin the transfer credit evaluation.

Step 3-Provide Test scores (if necessary)

For many transfer applicants, standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, CLT) are not required, especially for students over age 24 who already have college credit. However:

  • Some programs may require them

  • If you choose to submit scores, send them to JU with the appropriate reporting code.

Step 4-Transfer Credit Evaluation

After JU receives your official transcripts, an admissions counselor and/or academic advisor will begin your transfer credit evaluation.
Here’s how it works:

✔ Credits are reviewed to see how they apply to your intended degree
✔ Courses with a grade of C or better are generally eligible for transfer

If you completed an associate degree through Tennessee community colleges under the Tennessee Transfer Pathways, Johnson University may accept ALL 60 credits toward degree requirements.

Slide 5-Accept your offer and Enroll!

After acceptance:

  • Accept your admission offer

  • Confirm your enrollment

  • Register for classes (once financial aid and credit evaluations are complete)

Your admissions counselor can guide you through these final steps.

Will my credits transfer?

Yes, Johnson University evaluates transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities, and many previously earned courses will apply toward your degree. Each transcript is reviewed individually to ensure your credits align with your chosen program, and our team works with you to maximize what you’ve already completed. While some specialized or major-specific courses may need to be retaken, we’re committed to helping you move forward without losing momentum.
