Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice will equip students with both theoretical and practical understanding of public safety, protection, and security services from a Christian perspective. It will incorporate biblical and theological perspectives on issues related to justice. They will acquire knowledge of the social and historical origins of crime, criminal behavior, the legal process, the criminal justice system, social justice, ethical considerations, diversity awareness, practices in personal and public protection, and processes for criminal investigation. This essential exploration will enable graduates to analyze the biblical, ethical, and societal considerations surrounding crime and deviance, as well as implementing strategies for managing and preventing these issues, thereby helping students extend the influence of the kingdom of God in and through their work.

All four-year Johnson students complete two majors: one in Bible and Theology and one in their chosen field, such as Criminal Justice. Transfer students with substantial prior coursework may complete a reduced set of Bible and Theology requirements instead of the major. Learn more about the Bible and Theology curriculum here.
