The best way to get recruited at Johnson University is to contact the coach and talk to the Admissions team. The coaches get hundreds of emails and texts about playing, so the best way is to be persistent and reach out multiple times!

Yes, we offer athletic scholarships! However, we do not stack scholarships for student athletes, which means you are either on athletic or academic scholarship, but you cannot be on both. Aid is awarded based on coach’s discretion, and every team has a limited pool of aid to give out.

Being a college student-athlete is essentially a full-time job, but if you stay on top of everything and are committed, then you will find being a part of the team is helpful towards your academic endeavors! Academics come first, and student-athletes need to recognize classwork and travel times will overlap, but deadlines are expected to be met.

Johnson University Athletics is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and belong to the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

Tryouts are on an individual basis and are at coaches’ discretion. If you are interested, please contact the coaches as we do not do traditional large group tryouts.
