SCM Scholarship

Johnson University is excited to announce a new scholarship for prospective students who are beginning bachelor’s degrees in the School of Christian Ministries (SCM)! This new scholarship will award $12,500 each to four full-time, on-campus students who are pursuing an SCM undergraduate degree beginning in fall 2023. Students must be high school seniors and must complete the application requirements below.

Details and Requirements

The SCM Scholarship is open to high school seniors only. Students must apply for the SCM scholarship by May 1, 2023. To apply for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have already applied to Johnson University and been accepted OR apply now with current high school transcripts.
  • Be an active part of a church.
  • Submit a reference letter from a ministry leader who can share about your service and leadership in ministry and your future ministry goals. This can be a leader from your church, a faith-based nonprofit, or mission organization.
  • Submit a 500-word essay using the following prompt:
    Johnson University’s mission statement is to educate students for Christian ministries and other strategic vocations framed by the Great Commission in order to extend the kingdom of God.  Please write 500 words describing how your ministry or missions experience connects to the ideas of the Great Commission or extending the kingdom of God.
  • Participate in a video interview with Johnson staff and/or faculty.

Submit your reference letter and 500-word essay to , Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

 

Details:
Students must be pursuing one of the School of Christian Ministries degree programs listed above to remain eligible for the SCM Scholarship.

A student may lose SCM Scholarship eligibility for receiving a Student Life probation and/or overall GPA dropping below 3.0 while a student at Johnson.

Students must be attending Johnson full-time (12 credit hours or more per semester).
