The four-year Bachelor of Arts in Bible Teaching gives students 1) extensive, additional instruction in Bible and theology beyond the Bible & Theology major required of all bachelor’s students at Johnson University, and 2) training in effective methods for communicating biblical truth to students in a primary or secondary school setting.
Johnson University is a member institution of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), an intentionally recognized organization that promotes excellence in private Christian schools. ACSI offers accreditation for schools and universities as well as certification for Christian teachers. The degree paths in this program will satisfy their certification requirements for Standard Bible Specialist (for teaching Bible in a Christian school) and their Standard All Levels Teacher Requirements (for teaching Bible as well as other subjects). Graduates of this program will thus have earned the credentials to teach students in private Christian schools through obtaining an ACSI-accredited degree. Graduates apply for ACSI certification (renewable every five years) upon graduation from the program; no fees are associated with the initial application if submitted through Johnson.
Every undergraduate student pursuing a four-year degree at Johnson earns a double major – a major in Bible and Theology and a major of their choice, like Bible Teaching. Click here to learn more about the Bible and Theology major.
