Here are the details you need to know!

As a Vanguard Church Partner, you permit Johnson University to use your contributions to support the General Fund and the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account as follows:

  • 50% of Tier 1 Partner gifts will be placed in the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account
  • 33% of Tier 2 Partner gifts will be placed in the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account
  • 25% of Tier 3 Partner gifts will be placed in the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account
  • Semi-annually, Johnson will move all unused Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account funds to the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Fund.

As a Vanguard Church Partner, you understand that your students will only receive your Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account contributions given during the six-month period preceding the student’s current semester of enrollment.

  • In the fall semester, students receive the contributions made to the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account during the preceding six-month period (January 1 – June 30).
  • In the spring semester, students receive the contributions made to the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account during the preceding six-month period (July 1 – December 31).

As a Vanguard Church Partner, you understand that your students will only receive funds available in the Vanguard Church Partner Scholarship Account if…

  • before their initial enrollment at Johnson University, they were members of your church. The liaison for your church will identify your students to the Church Relations office.
  • they maintain their status as members in good standing with your church.
  • they are traditional, full-time, on-campus undergraduate students.
  • they maintain their status as students in good standing with Johnson University. Students on academic or disciplinary probation are ineligible for VCP scholarships.
  • they maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.75 will be ineligible for scholarships in the academic year that follows their failure to meet the cumulative GPA expectancy. Scholarship benefits will resume in the academic year following the return of the student’s cumulative GPA above the minimum 2.75 average.
  • they consent to the release of their academic records to the church’s designated liaison.
