The project

Johnson University has committed to providing food boxes to ten families who have children at Gap Creek Elementary School. Each box will provide food for the family for a week. The program begins May 7 and continues for eight weeks.

These families were selected by Tiffany Watkins, the principal at Gap Creek. Next Thursday the families will pick up the food at the school; the remaining weeks Roy Miller may deliver the food, since transportation can sometimes be an issue associated with food scarcity.

Of course, our friend Jordan and his team at Pioneer jumped on board with this idea, and Pioneer is providing the food at cost and donating their time and labor to prepare the boxes. Each box will cost $43.

The full cost of providing these meals is around $3500 (ten families x eight weeks x $43/week). We welcome your contribution to this effort!
