Job Summary

The administrative coordinator for the Templar School of Education organizes and coordinates the office and Resource Center operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Dean and Directors:

  • Oversee and maintain the office and Resource Center areas
  • Handle requests for information regarding teacher education programs
  • Compile and prepare data/reports for Teacher Education database, TDOE, Title II, Sakai, and Jenzebar, Via Watermark
  • Conduct and/or participate in meetings, conferences, workshops, and committees to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions and remain current and knowledgeable with program services
  • Oversee/manage the functions of the Resource Center (shelving, cataloging, updating)
  • Prepare layouts and schedule students for advisory meetings
  • Increase awareness of the resources available for the Johnson community
  • Assist in securing materials to meet the needs of faculty and students
  • Provide oversight of work-study students
  • Track program layouts, transcripts evaluations, graduation evaluation
  • Acquire and maintain equipment located in the workroom
  • Work closely with the ECLC director and teacher to support the program
  • Maintain the school calendar for events, meetings, and travel
  • Graduate program scheduling and registration
  • Maintain supplies and purchases for the Resource Center workroom and the office
  • Maintain the hours of the student workers
  • Serve as Assessment Coordinator for TSoE
  • Monitor support needs and materials through the Resource Center
  • Acquire, process, organize, and promote new materials to assist students and faculty/staff in their academic endeavors
  • Train others in the proper use of the equipment in the workroom
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail
  • Complete monthly budget reconciliation
  • All other assigned duties

  • Must be a creative problem solver with the ability to define problems, collect the necessary data, and draw valid conclusions to make decisions independently

  • Ability to train and provide effective work direction to other employees or students
  • Familiarity with office environment practices, policies, and procedures


  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience in public and/or private education
