tutapona logo Tutapona exists and functions as a compassionate response to people who have been displaced and emotionally scarred because of war and violence in their home countries. God led Carl and Julie Gaede to start Tutapona in 2008 as a mental health program to minister to those living in the Northern Uganda area. The name of the ministry is from the Swahili language spoken there; Tutapona is the Swahili word for “We will be healed.”

Since the ministry’s founding, Carl and Julie have been using their gifts from God in therapy and counseling to reach communities of people in Uganda, Iraq, and Ukraine. Johnson alumna Jaimi Henline Weingartner is the Director of Resource Development for Tutapona. Your giving will go towards Tutapona’s goal of providing much-needed mental health services for refugees and displaced families so they might experience the healing and love of God.
