The Johnson University Center for Urban Alliance invites applications for a part-time Administrative Coordinator beginning January 2023. Successful candidates will demonstrate proven interest, experience, and aptitude for urban life; excellent written and verbal communication; the ability to relate, collaborate, and empower student workers and nonprofit leaders; as well as a passion for the mission, vision, and values of Johnson University and the Urban Alliance.
Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ work experience in an administrative capacity. The mission of the Urban Alliance (UA) is to connect needs and resources of urban Knoxville with needs and resources of Johnson University. The UA’s mission is carried out through a number of existing and emerging programs. Most—if not all— reflect collaborative efforts with organizations in the community and facilitative services within the Johnson University System, and especially the Schools on the Tennessee campus.

This position requires a highly motivated, organized, and creative individual to provide administrative support and coordination to the Executive Director of the Urban Alliance. Since some UA programs are led by program directors, the role of administrative coordinator may also include working under the direct supervision of a program director. The UA administrative coordinator works closely with the Administrative Analyst/Coordinators in the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Intercultural Studies, the Templar School of Education, and the School of Congressional Ministry at Johnson University.

This position is primarily sedentary, working at a desk in a climate-controlled office. The ability to drive campus vehicles is required.
