Travel & Study

The Confucius Classroom at Johnson University works with our partner school, Zhengzhou No. 47 Middle and High School to offer the high school students in the local communities the summer camp opportunity “The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students in China.” The camp is sponsored by the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), a national organization in China dedicated to promoting the understanding of the Chinese language and culture.
All participants pay their visa application fees and international travel expenses. The in-China expenses, including accommodations, meals, sightseeing, and transportation, are paid by Hanban.

The camp usually takes place from the third week of August until the end of the month. Participants are immersed in a variety of activities, including language study, hands-on workshops, sports, excursions to places with cultural and historical significance. Please read the more detailed description of the program.

If you are an interested high school student, fill out the Application Form. If you are an interested K-12 school teacher and would like to be the team leader at the camp, fill out the Application Form for teachers.  Please submit your application and all required materials to the Confucius Classroom at Johnson University.
Admission decisions will be made by Hanban. You will be notified of your application status by early May.
