Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. -2 Corinthians 4:16
We live in a world that tells time primarily in a chronos way...in a way that measures the richness of life by how many years we have lived, how much time we have wasted, how many things we have checked off our to-do list, and how much time we have left.
But what if God’s people became known as those who learned to see and experience time differently? What if we became people who were able to fully live and see the world in kairos time, in God’s time, where instead of constantly checking our watches, we truly paid attention and attended to the presence of the Holy Spirit and participated in both the loud and subtle ways God’s Kingdom is working in the world today?
Often, it is easy to think our time at Johnson University has come and gone. But God continues using Johnson University in his redemptive work in the world, and we all continue to play a part in that work, no matter how much time has passed since we’ve stepped foot on campus.
At homecoming this year we will…
- Celebrate the 125 years of work God has done through Johnson University
- Add your stories to a timeline of Johnson University that will line the Marble Hallway
- Reconnect and renew relationships formed at Johnson
- Worship, study, and practice together the ways God might renew us inwardly so that we might continue to participate in God’s redemptive work in the world.
Specific things to look forward to
