President and Mrs. Gary Weedman and the faculty of Johnson University will host a reception at the White House for graduates and their immediate family members.

Gary E. Weedman
Gary E. Weedman is President of Johnson University, Knoxville, Tennessee. He formerly served as Senior Vice President of TCM International Institute, Vienna, Austria; Provost at Palm Beach Atlantic University, West Palm Beach, Florida; and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean at Milligan College, Johnson City, Tennessee.
He was born in Evansville, Indiana, and spent the early years of his life in Fairfield, Illinois, where he was graduated from high school in 1961. He was graduated from Johnson with an A.B. degree in 1964. He received his M.A. degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois, in 1967, and his Ph.D. degree from Indiana University in 1971. He has also studied at Lincoln Christian Seminary, Lincoln, Illinois, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee.
From November 1968 to June 1969, Dr. Weedman served as the founding campus minister of the Indiana University Campus Christian Ministry. He served as minister of the Maple Grove Christian Church, Bloomington, Indiana, from 1966-68. Previous to that he served as minister to the Burnside Christian Church, Burnside, Illinois, from 1964-66. He taught speech at Indiana University from 1966 to 1969.
Dr. Weedman’s other teaching and administrative duties include: associate professor of Greek and homiletics at Johnson, 1969-1976; Assistant Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies at Lincoln Christian College, 1976-1982; Academic Dean at Lincoln Christian College, 1982-1987. He occasionally teaches in the areas of New Testament, hermeneutics, Greek, and homiletics.
Dr. Weedman is a past member of the American Association for Higher Education, the National Association of Core Curriculum (serving as past president of the latter group), and the local Kiwanis Club. He has traveled in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Japan, serving as guest lecturer in seminaries and colleges in Romania, the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, Japan, Uzbekistan, and Great Britain. He has written a number of articles and books and made a presentation at the International Society of Biblical Literature in Groningen, the Netherlands in 2004.
He is married to the former Janis Morgan and is the father of four sons, Mark, Matthew, Micah, and Joshua and nine granddaughters and one grandson.

Regalia Pick Up
Regalia pick-up is scheduled for March 26th-March 30th. The times for pick-up will be 12 - 5 p.m. You may not pick up your regalia at the front desk but rather at the back door of the Registrar’s Office. There will be no exceptions to pick up time and place.
A note pertaining to alternate pick up methods:
- If anyone other than the graduate plans to pick up regalia, they will need to present a note with your Student ID number, your alternate’s name, and the signature of the graduate. They will be required to print and sign their name to receive your regalia.
- Full regalia will be required at commencement.
- ***The Registrar’s Office and Johnson University are NOT RESPONSIBLE for regalia picked up by an alternate that is not received by the graduate. ***
The rehearsal for Graduation will be on Friday, May 4th at 2 p.m. in the PW Gymnasium. Only graduates and faculty are to attend the rehearsal. Following the rehearsal, there will be a reception at the White House at 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and immediate family is welcome to attend.

Students will have a separate entrance into the convention center, follow the signs on site to get to the back entrance. Please arrive at the convention center at 2 p.m. Keep in mind, traffic may be heavy in the area. Please encourage your guests to arrive early.
Please be aware, there is no secure area to store personal items.
Commencement is an important part of your college career. Therefore, you should dress appropriately as to hold up a sense of formality and dignity. Men should wear a button down shirt, tie, dark pants, and dark dress shoes. Women should dress modestly and suitably for a special occasion. Please avoid anything that would draw attention to yourself or embarrass your classmates or their guests.
