Johnson University officially broke ground Tuesday morning for a $19 million dollar Athletic and Recreation Complex to enhance student life. The 11:30 ceremony included President Gary Weedman, chairman of the Trustees L.D. Campbell, President-Elect Tommy Smith, Vice President for Student Life David Legg, Athletic Director Ken Underwood, SGA President Lexi Overcash, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences Gary Stratton, faculty members from the Sports and Fitness Leadership program, Trustees, and Construction Management Team.

The faculty members of Johnson University participate in many activities beyond their normal teaching responsibilities, including writing, speaking, presenting at academic meetings, mission trips, and community involvement. The list below describes faculty activities in July and August 2017.

On September 26, over 20 students, administrators, and faculty from Beijing Language and Culture University will perform in a concert dedicated to promoting intercultural communication and understanding between Chinese and American people. Thirteen acts will perform featuring western Chinese music and dances, most notably long-tune singing, which is unique to the western region of China.
