Madonna Burget Spratt (’59) died this morning (May 19) in Honduras, where she served as a missionary since 1984. Madonna had devoted her life to her passion of serving people as a nurse, a medical teacher, midwife, construction overseer, Sunday school teacher, and church planter.
During most of the 60’s she served at Mashoko Mission in Southern Rhodesia (present day Zimbabwe). Throughout the 70’s she served at Kulpahar Kids’ Home in India. Her husband, John, who worked with her in Honduras, died in January 2016.
For over 50 years, her mission was a strong witness to the Person of Christ and His saving power. An article about Madonna’s ministry was featured in the Blue and White September-December 2010.
Memorial gifts to Johnson University will placed in the John and Madonna Spratt Permanent Fund.
