During Homecoming, Johnson University faculty and administration gathered to dedicate the Shiloh on the Heights Memorial Garden and Columbarium. Ashley and Emma Johnson, Alva Ross Brown and his wife Alma, and Robert Bell are all buried here, and in 2017 the cemetery was renovated and expanded to include a new Columbarium.
A Columbarium is a collection of niches designed to house the cremated remains of loved ones. Each niche may contain up to two urns with the names and dates of birth and death of the deceased. This new area in the Memorial Garden will be open to faculty, staff, alumni, and other friends of the university - for information on purchasing a niche, please contact the Advancement Office at 865-251-2327.
