Johnson Spotlight: Rita Karnes

Welcome to Johnson Spotlight on the blog! Johnson Spotlight is posted every Wednesday and seeks to connect the hardworking people at Johnson University Tennessee who do so much behind the scenes to our students, alumni, and friends. This week we would love for you to meet Rita Karnes. Rita is a joy to be around and truly does so much to help the well-being of those on campus. Rita is our Registered Nurse in the JUTN Health Services Office. Take a moment to get to know her below!

How long have you worked at Johnson University?

13 years as the nurse.Rita Karnes

What is your favorite color?

Any pastel color – my favorite changes daily!

What are your hobbies?

Biking, RV’ing & traveling to new and scenic places!

What is one interesting fact about yourself?

I was “Miss PE” in 1972 at Johnson Bible College! (she even has a picture to prove!)

What is your favorite quote/scripture?

Like my favorite color, this changes frequently also!
Today it is Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably MORE than all we can ask or even imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory…forever and ever!”

In note of Rita's Spotlight, we want to congratulate the winner's of this semester's program, The Biggest Winner! Rita began this program to encourage healthy activity on campus, through eating right and exercise. This semester saw many improvements for so many people in the program but the top three were Michael Zurek, Sarah Rogers, and Amy Ward! Congrats and great job to all who participated in the program.
