As the unrelenting winter continues to blanket the north with snow, ice, and below freezing temperatures the Johnson Tennessee Admissions team set out to tropical Florida on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, to spend a few days in the Sunshine State.
For many on the team it was their first visit to the Florida campus, which happened to coincide with the Annual ABHE meeting held in Orlando. Since Dr. Tim Wingfield, Dean of Enrollment Services, had already planned to be in Florida to represent the school at the conference, he decided it was a good time to let the Tennessee team see how the Florida campus operated on a daily basis. It couldn’t have come at a better time as Julee Schultz, Kristen Timm, Andrew Frazier, and Elizabeth Atchley were all extremely helpful with the Preview Day event on Friday, February 21.
Both teams hit the ground running while they were here catching up on the new data system to be implemented later this summer. Even though it was a short visit, it was extremely productive as everyone pitched in to get work done. Team members, who had spent the past months working together via phone calls, were finally able to meet each other face-to-face. All in all, it was a very successful trip resulting in the Florida team coming to appreciate the Tennessee team even more for all of their hard work and patience in this time of transition for both campuses.
