The faculty of Johnson University participate in many activities beyond their normal teaching responsibilities. These include writing, speaking, presenting at academic meetings, mission trips, and community involvement. Occasionally, we will publish updates on these activities. The list below describes some faculty activities in July 2014.
During the summer, Dr. Mark Ziese (Professor of Old Testament, FL) was in Israel-Palestine doing guided tours, overnight hikes, and article writing. He walked across Galilee (again), hiked about half-way across the Judean Wilderness, and an encyclopedia article on furniture in the ancient world. He maintains a blog about his activities at www.markziese.com.
Dr. Ruth T. Reyes (Professor of Music, FL) joined the Board of Stewards of the North American Christian Convention (NACC) at the July 2014 conference. She will serve a three-year term. She has served previously in the Continuation Committee and the Executive Committee 2013. She is also currently a member of the Convention’s Platform Program Committee, serving in an advisory role for the main session worship services.
