Johnson University Women’s Conference
The Johnson University Women’s Conference is a fun and relaxing event for women to enjoy inspiring workshops, dynamic worship, and uplifting fellowship. This year's theme is Just Be.
We hope you will join us on May 19-20, along with keynote speaker, Heather Gorman.
Heather Gorman is associate professor of New Testament at Johnson University. She enjoys studying the Bible and the world in which it was written, but even more she loves teaching and equipping others to do the same. She is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University (B.A. in Biblical Studies), Abilene Christian University (M.A. in New Testament), and Baylor University (Ph.D. in Biblical Studies). Heather has been married to Jamey for almost ten years, and they have two daughters, Anna Marie and Elise. She enjoys hiking, Zumba, reading, playing with her daughters and dog, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Amber Hockman graduated from Johnson University in 2000 with her master’s degree in Holistic Education. After teaching six years, she was blessed to come home and begin homeschooling her three children, now ages 15, 12, and 11. Throughout the early homeschooling years, Amber continued to care for other children in her home, only adding to the creative chaos. Through all these changes, God was preparing her heart to minister to others' children. In May of 2014, Amber became the director of children's ministries at Woodlawn Christian Church, where she continues to try to maintain a balance between family life and the ministry.
Kristi Gilmore is a Johnson graduate of the class 2013. Kristi has been leading worship since 2010 and is now the head of the Worship and Connections Ministry at CrossView Christian Church in Waynesville, Ohio. Kristi and her husband, Caleb, just welcomed their first daughter, Harvie Rose, in December, and are soaking in every sleepless moment of new life. Kristi is passionate about southern sweet tea and coffee and ultimately desires to help people find their way back to God.
