Master of Arts Post-Baccalaureate

The Post-Baccalaureate Master’s program offered by Johnson University’s Templar School of Education trains future teachers to enter the elementary, middle school, or secondary classroom as a licensed teacher. Students receive instruction in lesson preparation and presentation, classroom management, integration of a biblical worldview and application of biblical knowledge to the teaching profession, the development and implementation of curriculum, and current trends in education. They apply these skills during a semester-long student teaching experience under the mentorship of expert teachers. Successful completion of the program leads to licensure from the Tennessee State Board of Education; certification by the Association of Christian Schools, International (ACSI); and a Master of Arts degree from Johnson University.

The Post-Baccalaureate Master’s program provides an affordable and accredited education taught by an experienced and engaged faculty that is passionate about each student’s success.  The 14-month hybrid program includes online and face-to-face courses.  This format allows students to work full time while attending classes in the evenings and on Saturday mornings until student teaching begins.
