Upon enrolling, every student is assigned an academic advisor. The academic advisor is a faculty member with particular knowledge of the student’s program. The advisor and the student meet throughout the semesters to finalize the student’s course schedule, discuss performance, and/or deal with specific needs the student may have.
Know your advisor:
- Wants you to succeed
- Will take a personal interest in you
- Is familiar with your program and individual needs
- Will be available
See your advisor:
- When you have an academic question or problem
- Before or during registration week
- If considering dropping, adding, or withdrawing from a class
- If considering withdrawing from school or not returning at the end of a semester
- When you need a faculty friend
Hear your advisor:
- Offer accurate advice about scheduling courses
- Assess your midterm grades and how you should respond
- Furnish advice on study skills
- Suggest options for serving the Lord
