President’s Scholarship

Amount: Varies

• Based on highest ACT or SAT score and final cumulative GPA

• Based on start year

GPA from high school or college

• College transcript is used in lieu of a high school transcript for those who were enrolled in an institution of higher education seeking a degree and who attempted and completed 12 credit hours of course work

Requirements for students starting on or after fall 2011:

Must be full-time (minimum of 12 credits per semester)

Initial scholarship is awarded the first year

After first year, the student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Awards are tracked after every two semesters.

For students not awarded a President's scholarship their initial year, if a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA is achieved after their first year, the student will be awarded $900 annually for consecutive years. If a 4.0 cumulative GPA is achieved after their first year, the student will be awarded $1,800 annually for consecutive years. The student must maintain a 3.0 or better for continuation of the award.

This award is limited to 4 years of attendance at Johnson.

Cumulative GPAs for years 2-4 are as follows:

• End of 1^st year 2.00 or better
• End of 2^nd year 2.75 or better
• End of 3^rd year 3.00 or better

Bible Bowl Scholarship

Amount: $500 (1 year only) or varies with certificate(s)

Requirements for $500 (1 year only):

• Minimum participation of 3 years in church-organized Bible Bowl competition at the senior high level
• Certificate amounts take priority over 3-year participation award
• Complete the Bible Bowl Scholarship Application

Requirements for certificate amount:

• The amount is determined by the level of competition. The awards can stack with multiple certificates. Please contact the Financial aid office to discuss.

Yu Ping China Scholarship

Amount: $500 - $1,500 annually (select students)

Requirements:

• Often awarded to a sophomore or junior
• Demonstrate a strong personal interest in China
• Holds the greatest potential for impacting China for Christ
