The Worship Ministry Major is designed for students who wish to pursue a fulltime, professional career in worship leadership with an emphasis on worship theology, congregational ministry, music, and worship-related technology and arts. It is also designed for those students who wish to pursue graduate education in worship studies at institutions of similar purpose and focus as Johnson University.
Students will benefit from Johnson’s accreditation, affordable tuition, and an experienced and engaged faculty passionate about each student’s success. This Bachelor of Arts degree integrates coursework from the Bible & Theology Core and Arts & Sciences Core along with private and group instruction on a principal and secondary instrument. Students also apply their skills and expertise in real-world settings through ministry internships.
Johnson University offers the Worship Ministry Major on-ground at its Tennessee and Florida campuses. Students should consult the Jenzabar enrollment system to determine which courses are available at a given time, location, and modality.
When students complete this program, they will be able to do the following:
Organize, administrate, and lead a structured worship ministry in a local church setting.
Utilize appropriate equipment, theories, and ideas to create high quality live stage productions and live streaming events.
Prepare the local congregation for Kingdom mission through pastoral ministry, development, and leadership.
Demonstrate a proficiency in aural, sight singing, keyboard, and dictation skills.
Utilize media arts skills, theory, and equipment to enhance biblical teaching and ministry.
