Johnson University has fostered an environment of academic excellence since 1893. In order to assure the quality of its programs, the University has earned its reputation as a leader in accreditation among Christian institutions of higher learning. Intimate course settings, with an average 12:1 student-to-professor ratio, provide each student with a personalized educational experience.
The breadth of program offerings helps ensure that graduates are well prepared, either to enter the career field of their choice or to pursue a graduate degree. The highly trained faculty is committed to equipping each student with the skills and resources they will need both for their own spiritual formation and for leading others in ministry.
Each of Johnson’s undergraduate programs offers both a biblical core and an arts and sciences core to ensure that students are well-rounded and have a solid biblical foundation for their area of study. The various majors and areas of professional study are housed in eight different schools.
As part of the Johnson University System, JUFL graduates who wish to pursue advanced degrees with the University may do so either on Johnson’s Tennessee campus or through the Online campus. Graduate degree programs on campus include areas such as professional counseling, teacher education, and strategic ministry. Online programs include master’s degrees in Intercultural Studies and New Testament, as well as a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies.
